The Flowers

All of our flowers are grown without harmful chemicals or pesticides because we care about the health of our soil, watershed, pollinators and you.

Do yourself, mama earth, and your local economy a favor and buy from local farmers and producers!

You’ll thank yourself (and we’ll thank you, too!)

Our blooming season typically begins in early March* and runs through late fall. During which time you can find us at a local farmers market in Lexington & Louisville on the weekends.

Locally grown flowers are special. They’re long-lasting and smell better than most stems purchased at a grocery store. The bulk of flowers bought in the U.S. are imported from other continents and have traveled thousands of miles. Long journeys from the farm to your table mean heavy chemical use and a large carbon footprint. Our locally grown blooms have neither.

Why buy local flowers

Almost 80% of flowers sold in the United States are not grown on this continent. By purchasing locally grown blooms, energy costs and carbon emissions are reduced due to the closer proximity of the producer and consumer. Local blooms are on your dinner table sometimes as soon as the same day that they are cut. Imported blooms are cut several days, even a week, prior to your purchase, thus shortening their vase life significantly.

Small sustainable farms encourage biodiversity, soil health, and water conservation. Commodity type flowers have been bred for uniformity and stamina during shipping. Many have no fragrance or have lost their scent by the time they arrive at market. Local growers produce a greater variety of flowers.

Buying local contributes to our local economy. Flowers reduce stress and improve your mood. Flowers can be connected to a time, a place, a person, or an event. They have a story and you are a part of it.
